Hazards of Nothing Of Importance

Very overgrown property, long grass and sharp plants everywhere. Check yourself for ticks after exploring, I had two on me. Black flies and mosquitos are also a problem when I went, very annoying when trying to take pictures. Sharp objects hidden all throughout the property, most of it old building material with sharp edges or nails sticking out of it. On the long concrete plain there is plenty of broken glass.

History of Nothing Of Importance

Despite my best efforts the history I could find on this property is very little. But here is what I did find, this property is on concession 4 lot 12 and is part of the East Flamborough region. It was incorporated into the greenbelt in 2005 and is under current Greenbelt protection. Satellite images from 2018 show it is still destroyed and google street view from 2008 still shows it to be in the same state as when I saw it. Most likely was a farmhouse with an egg-laying operation guessing based on the size of the concrete plain at the back. Probably grew wheat on the fields nearby and stored it in the silo that was built in 1914. Operations ceased probably pre 2000 and the house collapsed and the barn was either demolished or collapsed and then cleaned up. It was then incorporated into the greenbelt and then any development plans for this lot were discarded due to greenbelt protection and all the red tape that comes with it. Flash forward to now, it’s still abandoned and probably will be for a very long time, eventually, that silo will even collapse.

Was cruising around google earth like usual and saw this very obvious abandonment. Concrete silo, empty concrete plain, collapsed house, and dirt road. Surprised this wasn’t on the website already when I posted it. Anyways made the trip out here, parked the car walked around the chained up gate and began the walk down the long dirt road with the sun beaming on me. Showed up to the silo which was right beside the collapsed house. Nothing of note it just looks like the local teenagers use the silo as a firepit and tagging spot. The house is nothing but rust and rot. Farther down the road there are old power lines with their wires cut and a concrete foundation with a metal hole in the middle. I have no clue what this could be. Farther down the road is this long concrete plain, which I suspect is where the barns of the property used to be. Now its used as a firepit area and as a place to shoot fireworks and break glass as well. Overall this property is a pretty insignificant property and geared right towards LVL 1 members as its pretty safe to explore.
