Hazards
This is quite a hazardous property for many reasons that will be listed here. Sharp objects are everywhere especially near the barn at the back, there is so much broken glass and jagged materials. The inside is not too bad for that sort of stuff. The property is very overgrown and with that comes the usual suspects such as ticks and mosquitos in the overgrown areas. The plants here are also wicked, so many thorn bushes my legs were cut to bits. There’s also hogweed which will burn you if you touch it and other fun little plants that are rather unpleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend that you wear long pants for this one. Moving into the house, it is filled with black mold and other growths that I have never seen before. In the basement air quality is especially a problem, so wear a mask. The main floor and top floor have their structure compromised and will break if you are not careful. I was hugging the walls in every room pretty much. On top of that there is a neighbor very close but thankfully the overgrowth hides what you are doing, but just be quiet.
History
Nothing again on the actual house or anything that would have let me know an abandonment date on the inside, due to almost everything being taken out. So I will be basing this on Streetview. Streetview indicates that the house was most likely inhabited up until the May 2014 scan which shows the barn at the back collapsing. This indicates abandonment because anyone inhabiting it would have prevented or subsequently cleaned up the house. The street view from that point on shows more decay and someone bringing in building materials and putting up no trespassing signs. The reason for abandonment may be due to estate issues or health issues from the mold inside the house. Again as I was not able to find anything so it is merely just speculation as to what happened.
About this location
Saw this one on Google Earth and decided to check it out as the barn in the back was visibly collapsed on it. I drove by it the first time and was unsure if it was even abandoned until I looked closer at the garage than I knew. I approached from the right side of the house to be as far from the neighbor’s eyes as possible. I explored the barn first it was collapsed and just full of junk and shit. A lot of annoying plants and insects for not much payout to see, but the pictures were something else. Approaching the house from the back I went to the left side of the house and found that the side entrance was wide open. Entering there was a very old Tv and some furniture. This house is full of cobwebs and spiders, I had to literally cut through some to get through a door at one point. The kitchen floor is literally about to collapse from rot and the weight of the appliances on it. The living room will collapse as well from the same rot and the hole that is allowing in moisture from the roof. The basement is the only place with stuff still in it but it has so much mold and other growths in it. Most of it is junk and there is only one obscured window allowing light in, it is practically pitch black though. Upstairs there are many swallow nests and they eagerly watched me approach their nest from the tree through the open window, I did not get attacked remarkably. Upstairs are just empty bedrooms and holes in the roof due to moisture. The garage is also full of junk and will very soon fall apart. During the summer it was quite overgrown and a great delight to explore even if it was stressful due to the danger of a lot of the rooms. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
