Oh look! Another Silo

This one is in clear view of the neighbors across the street, so feel free to ask them if it’s alright to explore before going through this tall grass field. Due to the tall grass, there is always a worry of ticks, and sharp objects are found throughout the property due to the collapsed building. Watch your step for nails and other sharp building materials.

No history about 66 Concession Rd 11 anywhere but I’ll give it a go. This property was incorporated into the greenbelt in 2005 and is zoned as an agriculture property. The Google Streetview only goes back to August 2011 showing that the silo is still in the same state as it is now. Interestingly enough the machine that is currently visible from the street wasn’t always there and was put there and discarded around July 2016 and has not moved from its place since. In the past it also seems like the front lot was used for hay production, now it is no longer. Only the back portion of the lot is still used actively for agriculture production. My best guess is that whoever owns this property is holding on waiting for urban sprawl or is just content with not demolishing the current buildings as it will cost money and use the land for agricultural purposes. A new building may not be able to be built on it due to Greenbelt protection and that’s why it’s only used for agriculture production. This one is probably going to be around for a lot longer.
