Hazards of Old Train Bridge

Due to it’s age, the wood on the bridge is starting to rot quite a bit so I don’t know if I would totally trust it. Other than that it seems as though the bridge is mostly sound. The only other hazards at the location would be the height of the bridge itself and potential poison Ivy in the surrounding area. Recently no trespassing signs have been put up, most likely due to the bridge’s deteriorating condition.

History of Old Train Bridge

I believe that the bridge was built in the 1870s or so (could be wrong) and was last in use in the 1970s (could be wrong again).

The bridge sits in quite a scenic spot, offering a good view of the river below it. The wooden ties on the bridge are starting to rot and have become home to lots of grass and moss. Underneath the bridge you can find a bit of graffiti and broken glass but that’s about it.
