History of Joshua Gallant Covered Bridge

According to Government NB, this bridge was built in 1935. There isn’t anything incredibly remarkable when it comes to the history of this bridge. One of 58 covered bridges in the province, still maintained by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure.

I found this bridge with a friend, we were curious what it was for. It’s now out of commission. They put some I beams in the ground to prevent anyone from going over with a car, but I think it can still be used for ATV’s. The trail seems to connect two roads that are now connected with a much more convenient road, which explains why it’s no longer in use. I went once prior to taking the pictures, and the bridge was filled with graffiti, when I went back with my DSLR it was painted over. “Length 25.6m (84')” (Service NB website).
