Hazards
The usual general remote bush hazards apply: Bears, bugs, sketchy roads, no service. There's a beaver dam washout about 1.5km from the location that's fordable with anything decently high if you stick to the dam side (south side). Last kilometre in is rough.
The Foleyet Timber Road, the main road in, is frequented by logging trucks that can dust you out if it hasn't rained recently, making it hard for you to see oncoming traffic and vice versa, plus there are a fair number of blind corners.
The site itself is collapsing. Seems like a decent chance there's mold, dust and just the general risk of the ceilings falling in on you. Several already have. The floors are pretty poor too, particularly in the entryway of the first building at the entrance.
History
The Kenty gold mine was first discovered in the early 1930s, by J.L. and J.G. Kenty, who I can only presume are related, and a shaft was sunk in 1933. Information then indicates that Brett-Thethway Mines dewatered the undergound workings in 1947, indicating it had been abandoned and subsequently flooded some time between the 1936 and 1947. The property then passed around various exploration companies, some of which did work in the 80s and 90s, again dewatering and working underground. The buildings still present are clearly from that last phase of work.
