This is a Racquetball and Fitness Club that was operational in the west end of London for years. I know of the family that ran it and my best guess would be that it was built and opened in the early 1980(a)s.

At first glance, you(a)d think that the banks took possession of the club as it(a)s locked up tight and much the equipment, files, a pool table. plants and even updates on the lobby message board are clearly visible. It looks like the building was vacated in haste but according to my sources the original owner/operator still owns the property, the problem being he(a)s asking for an exuberant price for the land and buildings which include a vacant house at the front (pictures and details to follow) and an abandoned mini-putt Center across the parking lot. In total, it(a)s about 11 acres of land.

Why hundred(a)s of thousands in fitness and other equipment was left unguarded inside is anyone(a)s best guess and because the building has had huge leakage issues apparently it(a)s all completely ruined and without any value now. The final note written on the lobby message board was from January 2007 so one would presume that this was the last time the club was open to it(a)s members.

I(a)ll try to get access to the inside for some interior shots in the future.

The larger group of pics are from the mini putt which we did have access inside the hut. The others are from outside the Club.

Added by DanikaGeorgyna, November 2015: This abandoned fitness and racquet club has been sitting on 11.05 acres of land surrounded by other abandonments and a lot of new developments. It has been sitting abandoned since March of 2007 as they moved to a newer location with a different name, The Athletic Club. I was surprised to see that they had left everything behind including all of the exercise equipment. I thought they would at least auction that off as its worth a lot of money. Im surprised a developer hasnt snatched up the property yet as there is a lot of development in the area. You can see that nobody has been around to maintain it. There is so much damage from a bad leaky roof including mold and decay and the squash court glass has been smashed. The place is rather large at 15,000 sqft with nine squash courts, a lounge and a restaurant. As far as the age of the building or when it was built, the ad says, "OLD". So I was unable to find out when it was built other than a long time ago. Link below is where I got the description from, and is a video of it a few years before I entered when it was in better shape.

FYI: Saw a sign outside this place this week advertising a retail center being put in here opening some time next year.

This place is really trashed now. All the nice glass walls are smashed and the bar area is smashed up. :(

I've checked on this place a few times, it's going to be real nasty inside when it opens again.

Wasn't able to get inside yesterday. Locks had been removed from one of the doors but the door itself was jammed shut (and looked as though someone tried to crowbar in.)

Yea, I guess they want to protect all their contents. (they may be a little slow)

Racquetball club is locked up with a shiney new padlock and the windows have new boards.

It's still there and there is lots to see. Bring boots. The lower floor is soaked and soggy.

Then you definitely went to the wrong location. The racquetball club is huge and still stands there. The name on the side of the building can still be seen from the road. It's behind Crossings restaurant.
