As this is an affluent area, acting conspiciously will make you stick out. Fortunately, the trees in the back can cover you from the backyards of the other houses.
History
Based on Google Street View photos, this building has been here since at least 2007 (oldest date). The architecture suggests that the structure itself is old, with modern furnishings being added over time (e.g. sturdy metal window frames secured over an older wood frame). The photos alternate between overgrown lawns and cars parked in the driveway, indicating that the property changed hands numerous times. As of the time of writing, the most recent sale occurred in July 2025.
About this location
According to this site, this home was "designed by reknowned architect B. Napier Simpson."
B. Napier Simpson died in 1978, so this building is at least 50 years old (as of the time of writing). An advocate for historic building preservation, Simpson designed other famous Ontario historical sites like Black Creek Pioneer Village and Riverdale Farm's replica 1850s farmhouse.
