About this location

One of the many tall kiln chimneys in the area, used for brick-making. These chimneys were built in the mid-1800s, all trying to take advantage of the huge market for bricks, as Toronto was going through a building frenzy.

Today a handful remain, scattered across the countryside. This particular chimney also has a great stone and brick wall beside it, adding to the character. I like to think that the bricks used in the wall were actually made in this kiln.
