Silenced Buildings- Greely

Demolished Commercial in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Location # 5057

Across from the Swiss Motel, and kitty corner to the same Hotel, there are at least three houses, two businesses and a gas station that are all empty and boarded up.

I was told that there was a fatal car accident that happened at this corner involving a dump truck and a car. The slightest bit of diesel or other contaminant leaking into the ground water can cause the Government to move people from their homes.

All of these locations are definitely worth a look, but beware, there is an abundance of wildlife near and I was even able to photograph a fox pouncing around in the tall grass after a mouse. The fox didn't appear to be threatened by my presence either.

Here are some further shots of the long low building seen in Azreal's photo. I was past there a year ago, lots of broken glass and graffiti. There were at least three buildings on this property, all had been trashed. I wondered if the fire department was using them for training before demolishing them. I guess they are demolished now.

This is now a very active (and modern) MacEwen service station with convenience store.
