Abandoned house and torn down barn with 2 other sheds near Long Island Lock North of Manotick.
Presently can enter through a door in back. Be careful as there has been a fire and floor is holed. You need a flashlight to enter safely. Member The_Hut writes: I stumbled upon this gem while looking for a place to go fishing near the canal lift locks. Entry to the house appeared to be difficult. I was only wearing sandals and shorts and was willing to venture inside the property at that point. I will return to it shortly to check it out. There are several buildings on the property including what appears to be a stable as well as a building that housed a well. The house looks extremely dilapidated. There is frequent traffic in that area but you can park your car in the parking lot next to the canal.

As of April 28. 2015. the main house 'seems' sturdy, but don't necessarily trust it even if it feels fairly safe; there is some tree damage, the basement is flooded, and the roof is falling apart in places, so the building's structure may be worse off than it seems. The kitchen appears to have been burnt out. The roof is steep and im bad shape underneath the shingles in some places; don't
Visited it recently, it's a really great place even just looking through the 2 sheds and the other small building. Will be back again with a flashlight in a few days!
What a great place....hope you're able to go back soon and treat us with some interior shots!
I can't see the house on the satellite image tho, is your map correct? Would that be the house about 200 metres to the right of where the red pointer currently is?..
Looks like a nice, secluded little spot. Nice first post... though it won't be long before you're pining to get inside such places!

Drove over and saw that the house has been complete removed and land flattened. All barn and sheds are gone. Seem that the basement was just filled in and covered, not removed!
