Old concrete bridge in the forest on The Grand River near Belwood. Didn't see a date stamped on it so i don't know how old it is. It was built long before the Shand Dam in 1940's, creating Belwood Lake, so the river would have been much smaller and narrower back then. Now, its part of the lake in the spring and summer. A large muskrat or small beaver scared the jeepers out of me when it smacked the water lol , darn critter.

Was fishing from this spot yesterday for a bit and my friend noticed a date scribed into the concrete that looked like 1813. But I don't think there was rebar concrete back then was there? Maybe it was 1913..

I was by last week too and ya the water was right up to the top of the bridge. Hopefully the water levels of the 3 lakes will remain higher this year. Guelph, Belwood and Conestoga weren't fit to swim in last year.
