About this album

My last visit here was in February of 2023, while finishing up my exteriors some clown from 'Hedley Seeds' (down the road) stopped and asked me to leave, despite me knowing the family has been gone for years and never having any problems here in the past, I was almost being done my photos so I decided to leave anyway. Few months later I drove by and noticed a public meeting notice out front, I got out to snap a picture to see the number of it so I could figure out what was going on with the property, the neighbour across the road was out cutting his grass so I decided to ask if he knew anything. Said buddy and family (Hedley seeds) had been illegally farming the Lee acrage for several years, likely after Gordon passed away. Meeting notice was regarding severing the house/barn portion of the property to be a seperate lot from the fields, documentation at the time from Haldimand county showed that this was denied due to the owing of several years in back taxs on the property as whole, therefore could not be severed or divided until the backtaxes were paid on the entire property. Last month the house was demolished as well as the trees, barns and all outbuildings, I can only assume that buddy from the seed place now owns the land and money talks. I'm assuming it will be returned to fields. An unfortunate end to such a legendary explore.

I've hopefully got something else coming. Just waiting for a bit of a thaw. The legacy of the Lee House is not yet over.
