*** Summer 2022 Update: The building has finally been demolished. There is nothing left at the location now. ***

This 107-year old building has gone through several different iterations in its lifespan. It was originally built as Lundy's Lane Public School in 1915 at what was known as Green's Corners. That name has been lost to history; it is now simply known as the corner of Montrose Road and Lundy's Lane. In 1953, children were moved to nearby Greendale school and this building became the Niagara Falls police headquarters. It only served this purpose for 10 years before the building became home to the offices of the Parks, Recreation and Culture department for the City of Niagara Falls. It was closed for good in 2005 and was given heritage status. Despite that classification, city staff recently voted to demolish it and build a new cemetery gateway and columbarium in its place. Demolition is set to be completed by early spring of 2022.
