Squalid conditions inside this abandoned sublet are a real reminder to me about poverty. It was uplifting to see a child's regimented schedule of study and involvement hanging on the door of her bedroom, her parents trying hard to raise her right and give her hope no matter what their financial status. It was sad though to see her art supplies still scattered in various places; signs that her life might have been upheaved with very little warning. Indeed, on my first visit to this location, there was food scattered about that had not rotted yet.

This is a 3-unit house. The upstairs unit was accessible via a set of stairs that have now been removed. The unit at the front of the house has been tightly locked up, and I’ve been checking it repeatedly for almost 4 years. Give it a go! You never know… you might get lucky and stop at just the right time to catch it open and accessible.

What month did you shoot this in and was it 2022?? I generally shoot things fairly fully but this place is entirely unrecognizable as Im sorting it out. I mean I matched up windows in my album to make sure too......WTF.

This gallery is only the unit on the south side accessible from that door. Maybe that's why it looks so different? It was also pretty small and squatters absolutely destroyed it between me shooting it and posting it on here. The entire building has since opened up, with six different sublets. They were much more spacious and interesting. If your gallery has any of the upstairs floor, that's why it isn't recognizable. The entire building has been resecured again, but with abandonments on either side of it, there are no neighbours to keep squatters at bay. It opens frequently.

Ahhhh, alright. I got maybe all the other units then.......It was a poorly lit flash album, and from January this year. This makes more sense to me now. Thanks eh.
