Hazards
Air Quality didn't seem ideal- a distinct stale smell arose when I entered, and the stairs and the insulation were discolored, may have been an indication of mold. Aside from that it is gated and in a busy area.
History
Cafe Jules Patisserie did not last very long- operating between 2016-2018 before shutting down. It has a sister location at 617 Mount Pleasant Road, which is still currently active. The basement of this building was home to a separate commercial business "Burrito Gordito", and also shut down at the same time. Previous commercial businesses that inhibited the building included "Burrito Bandidos", and "The Jerk Spot" (restaurant, not a sex club). Plans for demolition of this building and neighbouring buildings in order to build new condos were first established in 2011 when the land (and surrounding properties) were bought by Del Terrelonge. However, his vision did not go smoothly- his proposals didn't seem to go very far, and he sold the property in 2014. This seemed to be the trend with this property- new developers would buy the property, pitch multiple developmental applications and plans and would always seemingly fizzle out. After doing some digging, I had found the site had at least 5 (!) different developers who had bought then subsequently sold the land. An expensive game of hot potato it seems. Currently it is owned by Kingdom Canada, a developer from Vancouver, and we will have to see where it goes from here.
About this location
Most of the vandalism on the location belonged to one individual, who had felt the need to take it upon themselves to fill the entirety of the building with hate speech and slurs, with some of the nastier statements I've seen grafittied

Check Please!
Café Jules Patisserie is a great location, it’s not very big but it's quite fun to explore. I noticed someone went to town with a Sharpie and wrote tons of slurs and racist rhetoric all over the walls...
Cafe Jules Patisserie/Burrito Gordito
Cafe Jules Patisserie...someone got a marker and had a fun time writing a lot of hate speech and slurs, giving this building a higher slur/square feet ratio than the average abandoned building

From what I’ve heard, this place is long demolished.
