Hazards of Runes of the Ancient Mariners

It takes a boat or canoe, so use boat safety precautions. The lake is fairly sheltered and doesn't seem likely to become too intensely wavy. Getting in, at least from the northern road to the old ruined bridge, is rough. You'll want a 4x4. I had to clear trees fallen in the road to get through.

There is signal in the area but spotty. Bears as always could be around.

History of Runes of the Ancient Mariners

While these and other pictograph sites have been noted by some researchers and given a site name, there isn't a lot on these specifically. Will update with more research.

This is just a hop over from Raven Lake in Ontario. At first I took the boat to the connecting stream between the two lakes to see if it was passable, however said connection was composed of steep rapids, so no go there.

I trailered the boat at the Raven lake launch and drove back north on the main road from the launch, and crossed at the trail heading east. Had to cut a couple of logs out of the way to pass.

The road to the ruined bridge and launch on lac Buies was very rough, and looking north, it seems as though there were many more deadfalls on it, so the east-west trail was certainly the better option compared to driving to the highway and back down. Much trailer bouncing later, I got to the bridge, and launched the boat down a steep incline and motored across.
