About this location

The Hamill house.

As far as I can tell {after viewing the 1878 map of Markham}, this property was ,,,,,, originally owned/leased by David Hare, at that time. The house is located at the north end of the property, which was built in 1888.

The information that I have gathered, this house is known as "The Hamill house". The name "Hamill house" goes back pretty far {I(a)m not too sure how far as of yet}. As I believe they might not have been the first owners of the property. Maybe they leased the land, idk. I do know that the Hamill family had lived here for many of years during the 90(a)s. I am still trying to gather more history behind this old home.
The previous owners of this property/house{about a decade ago} was the government. They had used it to house ex-cons. This had only lasted for a few years.

Also an interesting note: My friends father is N. Hamill, he had lived here when he was a kid, around the (a)50(a)s {year isn(a)t totally exact}. The property and house are still in relativity good condition. The house is all locked up and there is a security alarm in working order. I had asked N. Hamill, if he knew who had lived here prior to him and he told me that he doesn(a)t recall, possibly his grandparents, not too sure.

I will update when more information is obtained

Only one gallery with interiors posted, shocking. This house was accessible as of yesterday but the flooring may be unstable, we didn''t want to risk it.

Was there today, all electricity has been cut to the house so the alarm no longer works. The wooden door on the garage is open, went inside and it is pitch black. Didn't stay long as it is almost entirely consumed inside with black mould. Don't think you could get to the upper floors in the house as the ceilings were starting to sag and cave. There is a really beautiful stone fireplace, and a

Nice set Vital! Too bad you still can't get inside. Maybe you can ask T'sI dad if he still has old pics from inside the place? Those could be a great addition to your write up! :) I'd love to check this place out next time I'm in the area.
