Demolished House in Wellington North, Ontario, Canada

This little place is about to topple... Basically the whole house is in the basement. I do not recommend anyone enter this one. It looks as though they were attempting to clean the place up, there are garbage bags and disposal bins all along the sides of the driveway. A blue Neon is in the driveway filled to the brim with someone else's treasures. I did not enter the buildings at the back as its quite a busy road and neighbours are close by.

From Catreeena:

Found this location on our road trip to Arthur, what caught my attention was the house with a caved in roof. The place is beautiful but very unstable, I did not want to risk it going any further than two steps inside the front door. I really wish I could of been able to venture in more, however it just was not safe. The floors were all sinking and in the far corner of what I assume was the living room in its time had a piano that was slowly sinking deeper and deeper into the basement. There are no floors on the left side of the upstairs, and the right side still has some but very unstable. Do not enter, I would advise you to just take a glance inside if you dare but nothing more.

I remember driving by here for work in the 2009-2014 timeframe. To the best of my knowledge the "squatters" were actually 2 brothers who's sister owned the property. They lived in a car and would simply park in this driveway. I saw them regularly in Arthur and Fergus. Around 2015 (or about) one of the brothers passed away and the other moved to a house in Fergus.

There are sold signs up though, so it could get interesting. If he is there and they put fences up, he might be screwed. Ya I guess FM might be good here, then.

My uncle once informed me of ontario laws regarding 'squatters rights', aka 'adverse possession'. Google 'squatters rights'. This is exactly what this man is doing by parking out in the open here like this. If he can prove in court that he has done this continuously for 10 years, then he can legally gain possession of this property... for free. I guess this scruffy old guy is a clever old

Yes, there are squatters here every summer. Not sure if it's just the scruffy lookin old guy or if there are more of them, but I've heard stories of them being hostile towards visitors/explorers. So best to avoid this place if a second car is there..

I think I drove by this place about a month or so ago. I turned around and went back scope it out, and there was someone sitting in small dark car reading the paper. The back of the car was filled with garbage bags. I decided it best to move on.

I can't see a reason for this to be FM anymore. The house is now split open and sold signs up, so this may be all cleared soon. Maybe a good explore for basic members now. It's too bad the owner of the stuff inside the vehicle didn't have anywhere else for it. Life can be so hard. Nice old wooden chairs out back. Holy 2litre bottles , eh? geez.

I've driven past this location hundreds of times and I always wondered about it. The fact that the driveway was partly mowed in the summer and there was a "No Trespassing" sign always kept me out. Sad to see it's almost completely collapsed over the winter.

Scruffy lookin old guys... Watch out for them! Thanks Trail!

*Just a heads up* Looks like the squatters are back. Drove by the other day and the other little dark car was there with a scruffy lookin old guy sitting in it. Maybe they just left for the winter. How could anyone live there? They would be better off in a big durable tent. Surprised the authorities haven't driven them out of it.

Ya. Everytime I've gone by in the last..mm, 5 months, the only car there was the neon.

Thanks for the heads up TGND. It was rainy & the place looks so beat from a driveby at 100km/h that I'd not bother stopping.

The whole inside is in the basement... Be careful Ridd.. Apparently unforgiving squatters reside here... May have been their car.

Who was here yesterday (04/29) in a little black car? Drove by but the place doesn't look worth my time..

My fav is shot #5 of the desk in the field with the water droplets clinging in the foreground - I bet that looks awesome in full screen high res.

the other car are the squatter that live there. No joke, they are quite "famous" in Arthur as people cannot believe they sleep in that house. on that note they are NOT the property owners but VERY possessive of the place.

Funny we missed each other by a day on this one. I spotted it coming back from Hanover/Durham on Saturday, saw the Neon AND another vehicle and a couple people mucking about in the driveway area. Was going to return, still may, thanks for posting!
