For me it’s just the sheer size and beauty of some of these places. There are mansions filled with beautiful murals and built with beautiful architecture that could comfortably house dozens of people yet sit vacant. As for things inside abandoned places, all I’ve ever really seen were homeless teenagers using an abandoned commercial building as a place to hang out and smoke weed and tina.

I'm always drawn to anything with a hidden courtyard in the central core... some community churches, older schools, even a few larger houses in Ontario.
