also of note is that Muskoka was where the Canadians, Brits and Norwegians trained during WW2. Some major crashes happened in Lake Muskoka. 2 of the airmen are still on the bottom in their plane that crashed December 1940.

This place has been for sale for a long time. the owners want a ridiculous amount of money for it apparently. (My firends dad is a realtor, and my friend had hopes of renting this place. bartering maintenance for free stay). 75 acres if I remember right, and something like one mil plus.

Previous to the speedway, car races were actually held right on the beach, as early as the 1930's. They had thousands of spectators come from miles around to see the races.
