Washington Mills Art Gallery — Abandoned Foundations in Niagara Falls, Ontario
This former Niagara Falls industrial site was demolished in 2007-2008, but in the last 3-4 years the old foundations have become a secret rendezvous for street artists. I'm not a fan of tagging but I appreciate that they've done this in a secluded place that is out of the public eye and without the token penis, vulgarity or racist tag anywhere. Each concrete panel is taken up and seems to feature a different designer's signature. It makes me wonder if this secret community shares coordinates of such locations and travel from out of their areas to each add their contribution. Some of the names here I've seen all the way up in Georgetown at the old Barber Mill site.
