Eastdale Townhouses

To get into the hazards, I would say that first and foremost, it's probably (I dont guarantee it incase they havent started yet) a construction site. Obviously first they need to start demoing the interiors before they do the whole outside. And she told me itll all be gone by August, though I do feel that it's a bit of a stretch, these plans have been delayed multiple times so I wouldn't completely doubt it. That's about it though until I make a return.

In plans for multiple decades, now finally coming to show. All these affordable eastdale townhouses will pretty soon be fully demolished in regards to build more condos. On the day that I came to explore this spot (not knowning it was fully abandoned yet), I came across something a bit weird. A bunch of trash placed outside the property and a lady on the property talking to somebody? If it wasn't for the trash outside, it would've not triggered my curiousity enough to go talk to these people. Little did I know when I introduced myself I realized this was one of the residents of these townhouses.

First I asked about all the trash that was thrown outside the property. She informed me that the day that I went to explore was the deadline, requiring them to move out. She also told me that a couple residents got a couple days of an extension too (should probably be fully abandoned by now). Apparently since November, the city has been delaying these deadlines though the plans are finally going through. But regardless of that information, why were they throwing all that furniture outside? Because of this reason, they were moved to smaller townhouses, somewhere that they couldnt place all their belongings in, and for this reason city ordered to throw the stuff outside the property. She also told me it was twice the size until the garbage truck came.

I asked her finally how she felt about this. And she wasn't the happiest. Neither would I be though, but she pointed at one of the townhouses. "She had lived here for 50 years" she said. And that was a little bit sad to hear. I would only imagine being that old and all of a sudden you have to move all your stuff and blah blah blah being kicked out. That would be a pain. And herself included, a lot of the other residents have stayed 30+ years.
